Since Chewxy and Dark Steno had shown pictures of their computer desk, its about time I posted mine:

01. Standard-issued Kevlar helmet. Adds 5% defense and nullifies instant death attacks.

02. ESS Tactical Goggle. This is an ACTUAL goggle used by the US Army and all branches of its Special Forces as well as by American law enforcement agencies such as SWAT and FBI. The goggle’s anti-fogging visor can be switched to either ‘clear’ or ’smoke’ lenses. It can stop high-velocity flying fragments and shotgun blasts at 35 feet. Go to their official website for more info.

03. My good-for-all rig, running on these specs:
ATHLON XP2000 @ 1.7Ghz
1GB RAM
ATI RADEON 9800PRO 128MB
SAMSUNG 16x DVD-R/RW
THREE HDD:
- 1x Seagates 80GB (Master)
- 1x Maxtor 120GB (Slave)
- 1x Western Digital 250GB (Slave)
Casing is plain vanila i-Cute with standard 500w power supply. Cooling fans for both CPU and at the back of the casing by Cooler Master. Modem is Aztech DSL306U. Streamyx is still shit nonetheless.

04. Card reader. For sending pics from my Sony DSC-T1 digital camera to my PC via its Memory Stick.

05. Planner/Organizer. Used for plotting all of my daily evil schemes and upcoming blog entries while away from my PC.

06. Military Handbooks Small Arms of the World from Orange Books, ISBN 1-84013-677-4. Useful in case my Internets failed to connect with Wikipedia’s firearm-related entry or guns.ru.

07. Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, ISBN 0-19-431649-1. Deliciously microwaveable in just two minutes! Available in wide variety of flavours ranging from Tomato & Cheese to Chuck Norris Hardcore.

08. Altec Lansing 2.1 speaker. Still holding up quite well despite its age. Bought it back in February 2004 IINM.

09. Toothbrush. Usually left in front of the monitor because firing up the PC is always the first thing I did early in the morning before hitting the shower.

10. LG Flatron 17″ CRT Monitor. I’m still fancying a go at it with CRTs. Current desktop wallpaper is Fate Stay Night with weapons Kansho and Bakuya on it, along with the Unlimited Blade Works chant written in small letters. Those blades are wielded by Archer and that chant is his Noble Phantasm.

11. Pepper spray. Useful for disabling normal, living attackers and subduing them without resorting to lethal force. Has no effect upon the undead and other mutants.

12. Eaga Booster Tongkat Ali, apple flavour. My father gave it to me last month since he got it for free. Never drank it. Now a mere decorative item on my PC desk. When used, it restores 100% health and adds an extra 10% to the health bar.

13. A box of Kleenex tissue, 90 sheets. For fapping, etc. Press the O button to grab it and then press the X button to throw em’ at zombies to distract them.

14. Stacks of games I’ve played before, all pirated. Titles include Command & Conquer Generals, Homeworld 2, Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield, Rise of Nations and several others that I’m too lazy to name.

15. Mineral water. Restores 25% of health and is able to inflict minor damage against supernatural enemies. Empty bottles can be thrown by equipping it and then pressing the X button. Used for grabbing attention should it hit a zombie or other mutants.

16. Stacks of rewritable media, largely DVD-Rs and CD-Rs and also post Cold War-era diskettes. Useful for burning animes (minus the diskette) and selling them at a price of RM5 per DVD and RM3 per CD. I may, for obvious reasons, charge a higher fee for burning Japanese AVs.

17. The latest issue of Perajurit (Soldier). At the current time of entry: November 2006. Basically a local magazine dedicated to Malaysia’s military and other related subjects. Unless it’s FHM, you can’t distract human guards using Perajurit.

18. A decorative object that my mom gave me, with the word ‘Allah’ inscribed in Arabic written on it.

19. “There was a hole here. It’s gone now.”

20. Philips Wireless Infrared Headphone. Runs on two AAA batteries.

21. FN P90 Personal Defense Weapon. A fully automatic submachinegun capable of spraying armor-piercing 5.7 x 28mm rounds. Ideal for use in close-quarters combat. Has infinite ammo. In order to unlock it, you must first complete Scenario A under the Normal difficulty with an overall grade of at least ‘A’ and above. When you begin a new game using the Clear Data, the P90 can be found in your closet at the start.

22. Plenty of random things and other objects. There’s Call of Duty (pirated), a CD I got free from the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary and another free CD from Longman’s MUET revision book, both are interestingly not pirated. Never tried or installed anything from any of the two CDs I mentioned. They’re just there as decorative items. Also, a bunch of photo papers I got free from a PC fair last year, still unused.

23. A4Tech Natural Keyboard. Doesn’t feel so special though, besides the matching colors that goes quite well with both my rig and monitor.

24. Razer Diamondback mouse. ZOMG FAST! and best for playing both FPS and RTS.

25. Beretta M92FS handgun. Uses the 9 x 19 Parabelum ammunition, 15 rounds, average stopping power. Able to stop the undead at 5-7 shots. For dispatching tougher creatures, you need a gun, a big gun, a really big gun before you could start to RIP AND TEAR! This is the default starting weapon with an abundant amount of ammo lying around. Look for low-res speck of red around your environment.

26. ¯\(o_º)/¯

27. To my bedroom. Nothing special there besides creatures from the ‘otherside’ trying to penetrate to this world via its walls. Currently busy keeping them at bay using holy candles. In desperate need for a chainsaw and a boomstick (aka shotgun) for obligatory reasons.

28. To the offline world outside of this basement level room. That is the realm where parents, real people, sunlight, women and actual paid jobs exist.

Not seen: SAS Level IV Armor (just below the Philips Headphone). Cuts all damage from physical attacks by 50%. Increases the number of item slots to +4.

My desk, in larger res.

NOTE: all of the so-called ‘firearms’ seen on the pics are just toy guns from your nearby toystore spraypainted to look real. Ditto to the ‘protective gears’ except the goggles. They’re just movie prop replicas.

razer mouse, but that mouse pad?
    heh nec

  • 2 Hangmen // Nov 20, 2006 at 8:23 pm

That mousepad is ancient (circa 1996) and I never bothered to replace it. Well, I did attempt to replace the mousepad, but all of the previous mousepads I used became broken or uneven (!) in less than three years of usage.

    So, in conclusion:
NEC mousepad = superior diamond-like durability.

unfortunately, it is now dead and the surface feels just like the moon…

that happened when the users lost some stupid game, failed to solve assignments, etc. hehehe. hammering the mousepad with the mouse.
