Yeah yeah, I’m 2 months late to notice it.

Superb Modern Warfare 2 cosplay of Ghost by an unknown cosplayer (details given are vague). I’m assuming the cosplayer is Fourzerotwo while the photographer is KChanko aka SupraMk86.

Location of photography is unknown. Taking into account the cosplayer’s/photographer’s nationality, it can be easily assumed it’s somewhere in North America.

Unlike your average cosplay, authentic gears are actually used. Yes, that means the M4 SOPMOD (Rock River Arms AR-15) and the Sig Sauer GSR 1911 together with additional accessories are the real deal. No China-made crap here.

The following gears are used in the recreation of Ghost:
- Peltor Tactical Headset
- ESS Eye Protection
- Tan Shemagh (around the neck)
- Gray PCU
- Blackhawk Industries CCH w/ assorted pouches
- Oakley SI Assault Gloves
- HSGI Drop Leg Holster
- 5.11 Tactical Pants
- Altama Combat Boots

I’m planning to cosplay as Ghost next year. I can get original 5.11 Tactical pants, Altama boots and ESS shades, but as for the rest, I’ll just settle with China-made copies to save budget. I found an RRV vest (airsoft replica) that nearly resembles what Ghost wear. I’m also going for a Tactical Softshell Jacket instead of a PCU for added flexibility (I got another cosplay idea in mind).

More photos in the photographer’s photoset.

His second photoset features Soap MacTavish alongside Ghost. AWESOME!

Also, a quick return thanks to Joystiq.com for using and linking one of the image I uploaded in this entry into the following news article:
Square Enix chief confident in Modern Warfare 2’s success in Japan
Western-developed games have rarely found success in Japan. However, Square Enix head Yoichi Wada doesn’t believe it’s because of inherent nationalism. “In the past, Japanese retailers have said that Japanese gamers have their own idiosyncrasies and tastes, and that that is the reason why the audience is not accepting of overseas titles,” Wada told Ars Technica. “But I believe that is not the case, it was just a matter of poorly executed marketing.”
Microsoft would probably take offense to that claim, considering it has poured considerable effort into the territory with arguably little return. Still, Capcom’s success with the Grand Theft Auto franchise shows that Japanese gamers aren’t entirely adverse to Western-style games. Square Enix believes it can follow suit with Modern Warfare 2, which launches in Japan in December, given the publisher’s “extensive experience with the Japanese market.”
We’re not exactly sure what Square Enix is doing to increase Modern Warfare’s appeal in Japan (the image above is not part of the campaign), but it seems to be working. Taketo Matsuo, a representative of Japanese retailer Tsutaya, has predicted Modern Warfare 2 to be one of Japan’s top 10 games this holiday. Considering the rest of the list is made up of new Final Fantasy, Mario and Zelda games, that would be quite an accomplishment.
———
Square Enix should remake Modern Warfare 2 starring Sergeant Pixel Maritan and Rule 63 all the male characters in the game into moe archetypes. I’d like to hear Vladimir Makarov sounding exactly like Putin-chan in Osananajimi ha Daitouryou.
But knowing Square Enix and their androgynous harem of beautiful men, one cannot hope that if there was ever a Japanized remake of Modern Warfare 2, it would fulfill all the expectations above.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently available for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Discovered your blog during a nightly surfing session and first thing I see during my cup of coffee is this cool article of MW2 cosplay.
It looks so cool that it makes me wish for some kind of world war or something… bah, whatever… I’ll probably end up buying the game. Geez, thanx 4 that!
But: loving your articles… feels like cyber-tripping towards insanity. New drugs for my overworked brain. Perfect R&R…
I’m out.

Just a friendly reminder from the blog owner to anyone passing by:
I am not the person doing either the photography or any of the person/s shown in the photos.
I received a bunch of e-mails from people praising me thinking I was the photographer or the dude cosplaying as Ghost, but unfortunately, you got the wrong guy.
In case you can’t read the text between the pictures, I say this again: I AM NOT the photographer nor am I Ghost or Soap. I’m just your everyday blogger posting these great cosplay photography sets I found from the Internet. I have conveniently provided the source of these pictures/infos, hyperlinked very clearly below the first Ghost picture, tenth Ghost picture, and second Soap/Ghost picture. Sadly, some people just couldn’t be bothered to notice them.
All thanks should rightfully go to KChanko, Fourzerotwo and the two unnamed cosplayer. They’re the ones who made all of this possible, NOT ME.

Damn, that doesnt look like Soap Mactavish?
He looks like he crawled out of hell, and just got new clothes. I am definitely not criticizing Mactavish, he is one of my favorite characters. I give it 2 stars.

Damn that shit is legit. These mother fuckers look like any of dozens of contractors I saw in Iraq. I have that same shemagh. Those guns are sporting some seriously expensive equipment. those rails alone are expensive. Soap’s EO HoloTech Sight costs around 500 by itself. I hope these are soldiers or contracters who just had shit lying around cuz thats thousands of dollars of equipment
