New Hidamari Sketch Special Reportedly Announced
Announcement said to have been made at Sunday’s “Chō Hidematsuri Z” event
The Moon Phase Comments blog reports on Sunday that production on a new Hidamari Sketch Special Edition has been green-lit. The announcement was reportedly made at Sunday’s “Chō Hidematsuri Z” event in Tokyo. There have already been two Hidamari Sketch Special Edition episodes released for the first television series, and an unaired episode was included in the seventh and final DVD of the Hidamari Sketch x 365 television sequel last month. (The announcement of Hidamari Sketch x 365’s production was first made at an earlier “Chō Hidematsuri Z” or “Super Hida Festival” in November of 2007.) The timeframe and other details of the new special edition have not been announced.
Yen Press publishes Ume Aoki’s original manga under the name Sunshine Sketch in North America.

The manga is still ongoing, and it recently introduced three new characters to the series (two of em’ pictured above). Following the second TV special, I speculate that a third season isn’t impossible. Heck, they could go on and make god-knows-what number of seasons because it’s so HHHHNNNNGGGGG! Keep the strength of your nutbladder up and an ointment at ready. As soon as the anime is out on RAW, fansubbers will take centuries to encode a trillion Petabytes of nutbladder-busting goodness into measly 200 - 300MB video files.
